John is the Founder and CEO of Phoenix Development Partners and oversees all company activities. A seasoned leader, John created Phoenix with the goal of revitalizing properties with hidden, untapped, or under-developed value in metropolitan growth markets. John and Phoenix have developed hotels, apartments, student housing and retail. Prior to creating the company in 2014, John spent 22 years in commercial real estate, working in all functions across a variety of asset classes including hotels, medical office, multifamily, industrial, office, retail, resorts, and theme parks. John received a bachelor’s degree at Georgetown University, followed by an MBA at the Kellogg School of Management. After Kellogg, he spent 5 years at Disney, first as a Walt Disney Imagineer and then in the Theme Park and Resorts Strategy group. While at Disney, John led the development efforts on over $1B of theme parks and resorts. A proud Winnetka, IL, resident, John is an avid pickleball and paddle tennis player who loves to fish and comes from a multi-generational family of entrepreneurs.
